Miranda has been unable to work as a self employed artist for 5 weeks due to a serious eye condition - please consider donating a little
Auckland
Our dear friend, colleague, artist and beautiful soul Miranda Brown has been diagnosed with a serious eye infection.
Miranda cut her eye which unfortunately became infected. She has been in and out of hospital and the pain has been debilitating. She is unable to do anything - including drive, shop for herself and work. All she can do presently is sit in the shade and dark while the eye heals.
Miranda is very philosophical about this and sees it as an initiation into deeper spiritual work 😍.
More recently she has been diagnosed with an amoeba in her eye – which is believed to come from swimming in our waterways.
And being the environmentalist she is, finds it quite distressing that she has had first-hand experience of dirty water in New Zealand.
Miranda is an artist and generates her income from being able to see!
So to throw a bit of light on what that could be like for her – she has been unable to work for the last five weeks and has a long recovery period ahead of her. Being self-employed, no work = no income.
Miranda is currently back in hospital but hopes to be discharged in the next few days. Miranda also hopes to be back in action as soon as possible but realises she is working with some real unknowns at the moment.
We are reaching out to you all to see if you can help and donate what you can to this give a little page, so she can take some of the financial stress out of the equation.
Please share with your networks and let’s get some $ donated so Miranda can recover stress free.
Miranda says “It is times like these that your friends and family really count and I am deeply grateful to my people”
I am one of her best friends that is taking the lead on fundraising for her. She is an extraordinary woman artist who had a terrible accident with her eye and needs some funds to support her get back on her feet.
Miranda needs financial support while her eye recovers - this will go towards rent, food, bills and general survival

Dear friends
I am blown away by your generosity - completely blown away!Thank you so much! Wow 😊
Many tears [healing] have rolled down my cheek as i see you pop up with your kind donations and words of support. This has been so nourishing for my soul.
Your donations have meant that I can focus on healing at this time.
Thanks Amanda and Suzanne for creating this Givealittle for me, i so appreciate this.
Facing this situation has been humbling to say the least. For 7 weeks i have mainly lived indoors in the recluse of my dim room, it has been peaceful but also deeply challenging to sit in the silence. However this has also been my learning ground, the journey has been inward and so the Amoeba in my eye has been my teacher. It has bought me deeper into the heart and I am becoming more present. Meditation has been my greatest tool and my friendships. My friends I thank so deeply for their delightful smiles and sharing beautiful food and company.
I have been out of hospital for well over a week and i go for weekly checkups now, the eye clinic have been amazing. Yesterdays update shows real improvement, slowly but surely I am recovering but it will take time. I still have blurred vision in my right eye but we hope for full vision in the near future.
Acanthaomeba Keratitis is a rare disease and one I wouldn't wish upon another soul. It is painful but this is the edge i am working with and i can feel great resolve in my heart and creativity in my soul that is going to burst forth like diamonds in the sky!
You are the kindest folk and i am so blessed to know you, to have crossed paths in this life....Thank you.....i am here for you too.
My love and blessings
Miranda B xxxx
