Support Our Fight: Help Cover Critical Cancer Treatment costs

  • A big step forward

      28 April 2026

    Hi everyone - quick update.

Today is my first day back at work.

Honestly, there was a time I didn’t think I’d end up here, so it feels like a pretty big milestone. I wouldn’t be here without all your support.

The treatments, the time, and the chance to get back to this point — that’s all been made possible because of the generosity from this page.

Just wanted to say thanks again to everyone who’s donated, messaged, or checked in. It really does make a difference.

    Appreciate it heaps.

    Cheers,

    David

Hi everyone - Just wanted to share a quick update — I started treatment again on Wednesday. The scan in July showed the cancer’s still lingering, and because it’s sitting close to an artery, surgery isn’t an option right now. The goal is to hit it hard for the next three months and hopefully shrink it enough to make surgery possible.

I’m now on a new chemo combo, alongside the targeted drugs Cetuximab and Encorafenib. These are expensive meds, and honestly, I wouldn’t be able to access them without the support from this page.

Your donations have made this treatment possible — no exaggeration. I’m incredibly grateful to each of you who chipped in. You’ve given me a real shot at getting through this.

Thanks again for backing us. It means more than I can say.

    Cheers,

    David

Firstly, thanks for all your donations, it really means a lot - we're super appreciative of your giving especially with the cost of living pressures at the moment it makes a real difference for when I'll need the BRAF targeted drugs - so thankyou.

Bit of a health update, in January I had a surveillance scan which unfortunately showed relapse growth to a lymph node near my liver which was resected four weeks ago. Disappointingly what was resected didn't have clear margins meaning I'm scheduled to start another course of chemo in April.

Picture is over the summer in the south island near aspiring hut.
