We do Recover! Step into Recovery St where healing stories begin. Support the healing power of narrative therapy for addiction recovery.

Te Atatu Peninsula, Auckland

Story telling + art + therapy brings healing.

Recovery Street is your trusted ally in mental health and addiction support, proudly based in Auckland & Rotorua, Aotearoa New Zealand, with nationwide reach. Our programme is designed to empower individuals, families and communities on their journey to well-being.

We believe in the transformative power of creativity, cultural wisdom, and clinical expertise. We're a community committed to fostering resilience, self-discovery, and a brighter future beyond addiction and mental health challenges.

The Recovery St programme helps move individuals through the healing journey to recovery by exploring the narrative of past experiences through the lens of someones chosen art form.

The programme empowers individuals to perform their story on stage, (or present their artworks). This process creates a powerful, two-way healing experience - both for the storyteller and the audience. These stories do more than offer personal healing; they inspire, foster deeper understanding, and help break the stigma surrounding mental health and addiction.

Use of funds

Your sponsorship helps our team of trained therapists continue our work supporting individuals healing from addiction and mental health issues. Our 14 week programme empowers individuals to perform their story on stage for personal healing.

Help Recovery Street Take Our Mahi to the World  4 December 2025

Posted by: Christopher Molloy

Thank you to all those who have supported our journey thus far!

Recovery Street has just been awarded the National Addiction Innovation Award 2025, recognising our work using creative arts, tikanga and lived experience to support tangata whaiora and whānau. We have been invited to present our mahi on the world stage in March 2026.

Our rōpū has been selected to speak, perform and deliver workshops at ICAF in the Netherlands, the leading international festivals for community arts. We will also be presenting in the United Kingdom during the same period.

This is an incredible opportunity for our team to grow, learn and bring new tools back to Aotearoa. Many of our members are people with lived experience who would never otherwise get the chance to travel or access international professional development. Your koha helps make this possible.

Funds raised will go toward essential costs including flights, accommodation, kai, local transport and workshop needs. Every dollar directly supports our team to represent Aotearoa, Māori-led healing practices and lived experience leadership on the global stage.

Our final fundraiser for the year is:

Saturday 13 December 2025, 7pm, Te Pou Theatre, Henderson, Auckland.

Visit our website for more information: https://www.tepoutheatre.nz/

We are grateful for any support. Thank you for helping us take this kaupapa to the world and bring the learnings home for our communities.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
