Support Rachel Rescues

$7,390 donated
Given by 65 generous donors in one year

Rachel Rescues saves stray, wild and homeless kitties in the Hutt Valley.

Wellington

It's that time again where wildborn kitties are coming out left right and centre. It's Springtime, cats are breeding and Mummas and kittens are in most need of saving, as well as so many Tom cats. Rescue enquiries are coming in quick and it's just the beginning.

As Rachel Rescues I'm more than happy to take on stray, wild and homeless kitties with capable fosters but without steady donations to upkeep these kitties, rescue becomes very difficult.

Each kitten costs $150-200 monthly to feed depending on diet, and basic vet costs with defleaing, worming etc is $250+.

Any and all donations and support is much appreciated 🙏 Thank you

Poopy start to this week  22 November 2021

Crap, what a literal poopy start to the week.

Poor Mr George has a burst absess on his head from a cat fight wound. He has 2 bite puncture wounds on his head which he scratched open. I tended to the wound yesterday, emptied as much pus as possible, rinsed it with saline solution and he's off to the vet today at 3.20pm.

I'm very worried about Millie and her kittens. All are lively and seem well but the kittens poo is yellow and bile like, something is definitely wrong. Off the bat research points to possible Coccidia, but we need tests first to confirm. 💔 I've sent the vets pictures, have a stool sample and am awaiting a callback.

Oh boy this is going to be costly. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated 🙏

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
