Ravinder Singh needs your support! He was falsely accused, spent 6 months in prison, and had his life turned upside-down!

Auckland

Hello everyone!

This page was created for Ravinder Singh by his family. He's been going through a challenging period in his life. He was falsely accused of assault by a woman and imprisoned. The woman used an intellectually disabled man as a false witness (articles below). She's since been sentenced for causing the poor man's death.

Ravinder spent six horrific months in prison, four months on electronically monitored bail, and $40,000 on legal fees before all 15 charges were withdrawn. His lawyer and private investigators proved through GPS data that he wasn't at the crime scene. If he hadn't paid the legal fees, he would still be in prison.

The legal system and prison took a terrible psychological and financial toll on Ravinder. He's dependent on high blood pressure medication and anti-depressants to live, suffers from frequent panic attacks and PTSD. Due to this, he can't work fulltime There is no justice or financial reparations for him unless he is willing to spend more on legal fees. Currently, the police and our legal system does not automatically reimburse you for false imprisonment.

The Crown have accepted he's innocent, but haven't compensated Ravinder or provided any support so we're appealing for your help!
