Help support Romy to get to the Junior World Powerlifting Championship!
Wanaka, Otago
Romy has been selected by NZPF to represent our country at the upcoming junior powerlifting world championships taking place in Malta in September. Romy is a 19 year old and is currently working to be able to pursue further studies in sport and nutrition alongside moving out of home.
In April Romy broke the national squat (173.5kg) and deadlift (200.5kg) record for U76kg Junior women. She is planning to go even higher on the platform at worlds! Romy is currently ranking 8th globally after only being in two competitions! She's looking to break both of these records in Malta.
Powerlifting is a self funded sport. And as much as this is a fantastic opportunity, it is also an expensive one!! Your support would be put towards non-negotiables for the comp such as flights, accommodation, uniform, and essential training equipment.
If you want to follow along in her journey to the World Championships you can see her instagram at the bottom of this page. Any support no matter how big or small is one step closer to getting her to the world platform.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey! Please share on your networks!!
I'm Romy's mum and super proud of my strong young woman!
Romy needs to raise $10,000 to get to Malta with the team. She's working to save $5000 on her own and needs to raise $5000 more.
Funds will help to cover travel expenses, accommodation, competition fees, and essential training equipment
