    Hey Everyone! 🤾‍♂️

    The exhibition match on the 10th of December was my first full match with the NZ men's handball team, and a HUGE success! It felt like the culmination of all our hard work coming to life. The understanding we built, the moves we practiced and feeling it click at times was awesome. ✨

    The exhibition match was also our final training camp. Wow, the time has flown by... I’m confident of the cohesion and understanding between us as we gear up for our first match at the Asian Champs. It's not just about the game now; it's about representing NZ handball with PRIDE ❤️

    Now, about the upcoming Asian Men's Handball Championship – To be honest, I’m nervous. But it's the good kind. The one fueled by the knowledge that there's more to learn, more to achieve. We're not pros, but we’re giving it our all. Getting into shape and preparing, ready for the challenge ahead. 🌏💪

    Heres where I have YOU to thank. Funding this journey has been a grind. Balancing work, training, travel and finding funds – not easy. Huge shoutout to Community Trust Southland, the ILT Foundation and Snap Fitness Invercargill for having my back. 🙏 Their support, alongside each one of YOU who donated to my Givealittle page, has made this dream a reality. 🚀

  • An update from Southland! 🌍

    Hey Everyone,

    First and foremost, a massive shoutout to my Givealittle donors and supporters! Your recent support has been both a lifeline and a motivator. Flight costs and travel have been a hurdle, but your contributions have made it all possible. 🙌 It's truly humbling to feel your backing, driving me to give my absolute best.

    Now, to the action at our recent Blenheim handball camp. Thanks to one of our teammates, we got access to a top-notch training hall, fine-tuning our offensive and defensive game. The experience was invaluable at this crucial stage in our campaign. Shoutout to the passionate youth players from Christchurch who joined us, bringing their fire to test us. Well done!

    On a personal note – less than a day before the camp, I touched down in NZ from Singapore and Malaysia, where my wife and I celebrated cultural marriage traditions and were warmly welcomed into her family. With only two hours of sleep and battling jet lag, I was still committed to the camp, giving it my all!

    And now, brace yourselves for some BIG NEWS if you're in Wellington! An exhibition match is on the horizon on the 10th of December! Can't wait to showcase everything we've got. It's going to be epic! Save the date and come watch the action. Details are available on the Facebook event page.

  • 🌟 Journey Update

    Thank you, everyone, for the incredible support and generosity! Your contributions have been a game-changer, allowing me to secure flights for the final two training camps leading up to the tournament. One this weekend and another in December, where we'll be gearing up with an exciting exhibition match. The excitement is real, and it's all happening so fast! 🤾‍♂️✈️

    On a personal note, I've been celebrating the recent milestone of my marriage and embracing the rich cultural traditions of my wife in Singapore and Malaysia. 🌍🤵👰 The journey hasn't stopped there – I've been seizing every opportunity to play handball with local clubs in both countries. 🇸🇬🇲🇾

  • Regional Champions!

    I've just returned from the National Regional Handball Championships, and I'm absolutely thrilled to share incredible news with you all! 🏆 @otago.handball didn't just participate; we won! That means we are the 2023 winners of both the Club and Regional Championships! 🥇

    Beyond victory, what I find fulfilling is being a part of the camaraderie and passion for handball. Meeting fellow handball enthusiasts fills me with pride and motivation! 🤗 Hopefully next year Southland Handball will be a part of the fun.

    Now, I turn my focus to an even greater challenge, the Asian Men's Handball Championships! We must now brace ourselves for an intense period of rigorous training and fitness preparations.

    My commitment to my handball dreams has never been stronger, and my ultimate goal is to be part of New Zealand's FIRST-EVER team to claim victory at an Asian Men's Handball Championship! 🌏🏆

    Representing New Zealand at this prestigious event fills me with immense pride, and I carry the hopes and expectations of our entire handball community with me. 💪

  • 🤾‍♂️🌟 Exciting Updates on My Handball Journey! 🌟🤾‍♂️

    This weekend, I'm gearing up to represent Otago Handball at the New Zealand Regional Handball Championships. 🏆 But before the tournament kicks off on Friday, there's a men's national training camp! 🏋️‍♂️ It's a long 7-hour drive, and with fuel costs these days, it's no walk in the park. 💪 Your donations on my Givealittle page play a crucial role in making this dream a reality, and I'm immensely grateful to those who have contributed! 🙏

    Exciting news on the Southland Handball front! 🤩 Our Open Day saw over 20 people join and register with the club. 🙌 We even had 8 enthusiastic participants at our first training session and social match, which is beyond awesome! The future looks incredibly bright for Southland Handball, and I'm honored and grateful for the passion and excitement everyone brings. 🌅🤾‍♂️ Maybe next year, we'll have a Southland Handball team at the Regional Championships! 🤞

    My training and preparation are in full swing, with a special focus on handball-specific skills like shooting. 🎯 Despite a recent bout of tendonitis in my left Achilles, I'm nursing it back to full strength. 💪

    I'm thrilled about the upcoming tournament in Christchurch, where I'll have the chance to measure my performance alongside some of New Zealand's best Handball players. 📊🥇 This will be our last tournament on Kiwi soil before we venture abroad, so I'm determined to bring my A-game! 💥🔥

  • Transforming Southland Handball: Your Support, Our Progress

    I want to extend my deep gratitude to those who have already donated to my cause. Since receiving your generous donations, I have paid for travel to attend training camps in September and October!

    The support from my community has been incredible and had some positive knock-on effects. Since beginning this journey, I’ve began to engage with local schools to introduce Handball into primary and secondary schools in Invercargill! The smiles and enthusiasm I've witnessed are priceless.     Hey everyone! 👋 I wanted to share an update on my handball journey and the exciting steps I've taken towards achieving my goals. It hasn't been easy, but I'm proud to say that I've started reaching out to businesses and organizations, seeking their support and sponsorship. It's definitely pushing me out of my comfort zone, but I'm determined to make a difference! 💫

    🔥 Challenges: I want to be transparent and share that I've been dealing with illness over the past week. However, I'm bouncing back and ready to dive into serious training next week. Nothing can dim my determination and drive to succeed in representing Southland at the highest level. 💪🏆

    💸 Funding the Dream: As I prepare for training camps and tournaments, the financial aspect has been a hurdle. Booking flights and covering the expenses is quite challenging, and I'm currently struggling to afford attendance at most events. But with your support, we can make it happen!
