Sweetpea’s Legacy & Desexing her 10 Pups

Auckland Puppy rescue is all about rescuing puppies, fostering them with caring families and adopting them to great new and loving homes!

Sweetpea wasn’t a puppy but she came into the charity heavily pregnant with 10 wee ones due any minute. She was rescued from the Coromandel and was brought into the APR family. She delivered all 10 healthy pups and did nurse for a time, however this best mama who deserves so much after all that she’s been through, became very ill. She has fought off lung infections, UTI’s and uterus infections. Her babies were bottle fed by some wonderful foster families and we have been doing our best with the help of Vet North Kumeū to keep her with us.

She had been fighting incredibly hard to stay in this world with us but unfortunately the infections became too frequent and we had to make the compassionate decision to let her rest.

Due to our very best efforts to save her, our vet bills have been significant — and as a small rescue, we need help covering the cost of her treatment. On top of that, her 10 puppies will all need to be desexed before they can be adopted into loving homes. We’re committed to ensuring their future is safe, responsible, and healthy — but we can’t do it without you.
