Support the Tairua River Trail

Tairua, Waikato

From summer 2024 we'll be building the final stages of a 15km trail between Pauanui and Tairua, including a 120-metre suspension bridge across the Tairua River and a new trail along the north bank towards Tairua.

The first 7km stage of the Tairua River Trail is already open from Pauanui Waterways to a point downstream of Hikuai, and attracts thousands of walkers, cyclists and joggers every year.

About us

The trust oversees community projects in Hikuai District. Our current focus is the funding and construction of a cycle trail between Tairua and Pauanui.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
