Help cover usual living expenses and costs, to continue their fight for justice after their ERA win was challenged in court by the employer.
Auckland
A devoted Auckland couple faced heartbreak when they were both abruptly made redundant from Longevity Construction in January 2024. Their dreams of buying a home were shattered as they burned through savings meant for a deposit, now struggling to afford rent and feed their young son.
Didi, awarded $207,000 by the Employment Relations Authority for unjust dismissal, faces further delays as the employer challenges the ruling to the Employment Court, alongside his colleague Rob Williams, who was callously sacked via email while on sick leave. This legal battle, likely to drag on for months, leaves them struggling to cover basic living costs, never mind legal costs.
As their Employment Law Advocate, I’ve seen their resilience, and I have stood by them through this journey, despite my own invoices remaining unpaid. Litigation and the Court process is slow, adversarial and expensive, making it hard for me alone to support their fight.
Your donation can provide a lifeline, helping with everyday expenses for their family, and potentially funding legal costs to ensure they aren’t denied the justice they deserve. Every contribution brings hope, easing their burden and showing they’re not alone.
Let’s rally together and help them rebuild and secure the fair outcome they deserve.
Together, we can make a difference in their lives.

Advocate and Legal Representative, supporting them through their unfair dismissal case. I've stood by them at the Authority, and will continue through the Employment Court.
Funds will cover rent, food, and everyday essentials for Didi, Else, and their school-aged son, plus ongoing legal costs for court proceedings after an ERA win, now being challenged by the employer, ensuring they can continue to pursue justice.
Update: Heartfelt Thanks 12 July 2025
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, shared this page, or sent words of encouragement. Your support means more than you know, and every dollar is sincerely appreciated.
Being forced into the Employment Court process (through the challenge filed by Longevity) brings significant legal costs, that now can’t be avoided. The only alternative would be to self-represent - a path that, as many will know, is incredibly daunting. Choosing to be represented means choosing to fight with the right support, but it comes at a price. Your generosity helps lighten that load and keeps hope alive, while ensuring usual bills and cost of living expenses are taken care of.
We are deeply grateful for every show of support.
