Supporting Tracey as she faces stage 4 cancer, helping fund vital treatment not covered in New Zealand.

A note from Tracey's husband, Paul
Tracey’s cancer journey began in early 2022, after finding a lump while away in Tauranga. Once home in Whangārei, she was diagnosed with stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer.
She underwent chemotherapy, a mastectomy, and weeks of radiotherapy. For a time, things felt under control, but scans showed the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and progressed to stage 4.
During this already incredibly difficult time, our family also experienced the heartbreaking loss of our eldest daughter.
Tracey has continued to face everything with strength and grace, trying multiple treatments over the past two years. Each worked for a time before stopping. We’ve now reached a point where there are no further funded options.
The cancer has progressed, with large lymph nodes in Tracey’s neck causing significant pain and discomfort. As this is inoperable, she is currently undergoing further radiotherapy to reduce the swelling.
Our last hope is a drug called Sacituzumab Govitecan, which is not funded in New Zealand. Each treatment costs around $8,000 and is needed every 21 days.
I have taken unpaid leave from work to support Tracey as her full-time carer, so with no income, funding treatment has become very difficult.
If you are able to support us we are deeply grateful. Every bit helps us continue Tracey’s care.
Thank you for taking the time to read Tracey’s story. Your support, whether through a donation or sharing this page, truly means so much.
Paul & the Fancy Family
This page has been set up on behalf of the Fancy family by Laura, a close family friend, to support them during this time.
Funds will go directly toward Tracey’s unfunded cancer treatment (Sacituzumab Govitecan), costing around $8,000 every 21 days, as well as supporting day-to-day living costs while Paul cares for her full-time without income.
