Two sisters. One small town. One big dream.
Wanaka, Otago
From the slopes of Wanaka to Europe, we’re chasing a dream built on early mornings, long winters, relentless training, and the belief that with hard work, anything is possible.
This past year brought both progress and big challenges.
I (Mathilda), after my 2024 NZ U21 Overall Alpine title, earned multiple European podiums, became the 2025 Slovenian National Junior GS Champion, was selected for the NZ Development Team and World Junior Championships, and lowered my FIS points before injury sidelined me for the NZ winter.
I (Isabel), in my first year of adult racing at 16, became the 2025 NZ Overall Alpine and Slalom Champion. Earlier U16 results included four international FIS children's podiums, ranking no.1 U14 female in Switzerland, and twice winning the Grand Prix Migros, one of the largest children's races in the world.
But behind our achievements is a financial reality: alpine skiing is one of NZ’s most expensive sports, with rising costs and no financial support from Snowsports NZ.
Off the snow we work hard: running our small business, mentoring younger athletes, helping our community, and taking part-time work where possible alongside NCEA study. We’re determined and grateful for all support.
If you believe in hard work, resilience, and big dreams from small places, we’d love your help:
• Mathilda aiming again for the World Junior Championships in Norway.
• Isabel building on early FIS success.
Funds will go towards:
Training fees of $50,000 each
Racing Insurance $3000 each
Flights $4000 each
World Junior Championships Norway 2026 11 February 2026
Unfortunately I have to share the news that despite being selected by Snowsports New Zealand to compete in 4 disciplines at the 2026 World Junior Championships, I have not been able to raise the funds to pay for it. On top of this there is no coach from my current team that could travel with me either so logistics to attend with no coach and being too young to hire a car makes it virtually impossible. Despite reaching out to around 100 people and companies it has not been enough. I am pretty devastated but I will continue to work hard to achieve my goals both from a skiing perspective and to find ways to fund it all. The funds raised so far will go towards paying my training fees for this year. Thank you so much to all of you for supporting us and please reach out to us if you would like any more information. Nga mihi nui.
