AWIS is raising funds for its Women in STEM tertiary scholarship. Our aim is to raise enough money to fund our scholarship until 2022.
The Association for Women in the Sciences (AWIS) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting women and girls in achieving their full potential through Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
In 2018, AWIS established a Women in STEM scholarship, managed by the New Horizons for Women Trust, to support women studying STEM at tertiary level. An annual fund of $9,000 is available, and is particularly aimed at women whose social identity is under-represented in their field of study.
AWIS is raising funds to keep this scholarship running into the future. Through a programme of fundraising efforts - including a National Quiz night, auctions and personal donations - we hope to raise enough to fund the scholarship until 2022.
