    Xander is back home in New Zealand and getting used to the culture change. He is stoked to be back with his friends and has been charging at his home break in Raglan. We would like to thank everyone that supported his adventures in Indonesia. To follow his summer adventures in New Zealand, check out his Instagram page. The next big events for him will be the New Zealand Surfing National Championships that will be held in Dunedin in January 2024.

    Xander’s time in Indonesia has come to an end and the past month wouldn’t have been possible without everyone’s support. We are truly grateful and would like to thank everyone for your generosity. He has picked up the language, made new friends and got to know his extended family in Java. It’s like a second home to him now. He is stoked to be coming home with a brand new Flanagan Custom Surfboard and the two other boards he has been surfing during his trip. Next up for Xander is the NZ Surfing National that will be held in Dunedin January 7-13, 2023.

  • Java Touring

    What a trip this has been for Xander. The past month he has been searching for new waves and exploring all the surf beaches around East Java. It’s been almost 4 weeks since their Visa run to Kuala Lumpur so they needed to extend their Visa’s for the last few weeks of their trip. This involved driving to Immigration Office in Jember and waiting a few days for them to process it. Jember has some great surf spots on the coast and Xander has been making friends with the local kids that surf.

  • Trip to Kuala Lumpur for Visa Extension

    Time has quickly approached that Xander’s Visitors Visa is running out so he will need to travel outside of Indonesia to extend his stay at the end of this week. He will be travelling to Kuala Lumpur, a 2.5hr flight from Surabaya Airport. The 5 hour drive from Genteng to the Airport in Surabaya will be a chance to explore the coastline and check for surf spots along the way. He will need to use funds from your generous donations to help cover costs of flights, accommodation and visa’s. He is grateful that you all have helped make this happen. 🙏😇 check out his instagram to see his surfing progress so far.

  • First Surfboard purchased

    Kia Ora Whanau, Xander found a secondhand surfboard in Bali when the boys dropped his sister & I at the airport a few days ago. He is stoked. They were also going to go to a Surf board factory in Sanur and talk to the shaper about a custom board. He is back at Red Island Beach surfing in Java this weekend. He surfed really well in Medewi, you can check out some of his video's on his instagram.
