Help Lupita beat breast cancer
Lupita is my dear Mexican sister-in-law who is battling breast cancer.

Recently Lupita discovered a lump in her left breast, and before we knew it, she was subject to a mastectomy, had her lymph nodes removed and is currently undergoing chemotherapy, which will be followed by radiation.
Lupita is the most beautiful person inside and out, who is so caring and compassionate to others. As you can imagine, we are all shattered by this.
The Mexican healthcare system is very limited - while the government hospital system is covering her chemotherapy, her out-of-pocket expenses are mounting by the day, and her treatments, medication and other related items are crippling her family's earnings.

Lupita means the world to us, and we want to do anything to help her through this ordeal, giving her a chance to get back to her radiant, vivacious self.
Use of funds
Funds raised will be used to help cover Lupita's out-of-pocket expenses, such as medication following her chemo treatments, transport to the hospital, wigs to cover her hair loss, and eventually her breast reconstruction surgery.
Also, she is no longer working (she is an English teacher at Mexico's leading university), so her family is now struggling on a single income, so every little bit will help to support her and her family.

Thank you all so much for your generosity and support. It means the world to us.
Lupita has just finished her 8th and final session of chemotherapy, and will soon start radiation treatment. The last few months have definitely been a physical and emotional rollercoaster for Lupita, but she is trying to stay strong and positive. Her hair has started to grow back, so every little achievement is a huge step in her path to recovery and normality.
She asked me to share this message with you all.
