Love and support
31 May 2016Over the last few weeks Matua Murray and Whaea Mere have had visits from some of our local school children who have come to share there songs, stories and aroha. This, as I'm sure you all know means the world to Matua and Whaea.
Orewa North Primary Principle, Mr B Tilby and
Kapa Haka Teacher, Whaea Leanne with some of the awesome pupils from Orewa North Primary School.

This deeply saddens me to learn of Matua passing - he has left a legacy of Aroha and Manaakitanga not often seen today. I lived next door to Matua and to Mere in Orewa North for a number of years when my younger 3 children attended Orewa North School, - Rebecca, Ashley and Holly - Having had them as neighbours and Mere as their teacher they showed that people were not just other people but were part of their whanau and their hearts. Matua you have left so many of us richer for you having shared in our lives, you have earned your place with the Tupuna to now guide from a higher realm - having gone from a strong Papa, an inspiring leader, a wise Tohunga and now Guiding Tupuna - kia ora for the mahi over the many years aroha nui to the Mere and the whanau - Ngahuiroimata, Rebecca, Ashley and Little miss pink gumboots (Holly) and our babyboy - Liam
