Fought, hoped & at the end lost. Now rest in peace, you good heart. To see you suffer & couldn't help was our biggest pain. Away to the eye but close to the heart.

Our lovely Rebecca passed away in Germany on the 17th of December a service will be held for her on the 4th of January

On behalf of Mike and close friends, we would like to thank those whose generously donated to fund Becs treatment, your words of encouragement and support kept her fighting for such a long time. We are forever grateful.

Words cannot justify the happiness that Rebecca bought to us all in New Zealand. She was one of a kind. Her gentle nature, great style, beautiful vibes and love for all things purple never went unnoticed, but most importantly Becs had a sense of humour that could fill a room with laughter.

About a third of her life was spent in New Zealand, where she lived in Queenstown and later Nelson. All though short Rebecca blossomed in all aspects of life and she had grown into the beautiful and strong women.

I ask of you all to celebrate the life of Rebecca, be proud of the beautiful woman she was, acknowledge that she was a fighter right till the very end. Honour that she was a loving wife, daughter, sister proud aunty, godmother and so much more.

Becs we never knew we were making memories we just knew we were having fun and that's what counts. May you rest in peace and be free from pain. Until we meet again, much love xo

Eeekkk we could not be happier, we are stoked to announce the medication Rebecca so dearly needed will now be covered by their German Insurance. We would like to thank our friends, family and supporters for your generous donations and kind words of support.

Without you Rebecca would have never been able to start the treatment in the first place, you have given Becs a chance to extend her life, and we are forever grateful.

Our hearts are filled with happiness as the stress levels have been lifted and now Rebecca can fully concentrate on her health, enjoy time with loved ones and stay positive for the future xox

The beautiful Rebecca has recently had some fantastic news!! Here’s a wee update from her….

“So I’ve had some good news: The medication is working, and the metastases are getting smaller. We have lodged another claim with my health insurance, and hopefully, they will fund the medication once they see that it’s working. The process can take up to 8 weeks in which I will need more of the medication, and after having used up all our savings, my Kiwi Saver and the many generous givealittle donations, I am sadly running low of funds” Becs xx.

"The power of positively has never been a low point with Becs, she has remained upbeat in this whole journey, I know she is determined to kick cancer in the butt!! I believe the most significant challenges in life always hit the ones that can handle it and this girl is surely not going anywhere without a fight. Behind every fighter, there is always a few ringsiders to support and that just the case here, Rebecca has an amazing support crew from all over the globe. I thank you for all your generous donations, kind words of support and encouragement. Today I have reinstated this page for Becs, Please remain positive, share this givealittle page, donate if you can and pat yourself on the back because without your support this whole journey would have been a lot harder. Big hugs and positive vibes xoxo" Renee

My Aim: Is to help fund Becs for another two months of medication, in this time hopefully their insurance will come through. I will keep you up to date with the progress. In the meantime, if you have any alternative suggestions for fundraising or who I should contact to spread the word further, please get in contact: renee_shaw_@hotmail.com

Happy New Year everyone!! Firstly I would like to thank you all for the generosity and support you have given to Rebecca and Mike, words cannot describe how grateful we all are.

We have raised enough money for just over a months worth of medication; super stoked that we can kick things off - After Rebecca has started the next stage in her treatment, I will put another shot out to see if we can rally up some more funds to keep the treatment going.

If there is anyone that has any further fundraising ideas that we could do, please get in touch, it would be much appreciated. Renee

While summer in New Zealand has been insanely hot, Rebecca and Mike have been keeping warm in the snowy conditions of Heinsberg. Below is an update from them:

“Michael and I wanted to give everyone a wee update on what’s been happening:

Unfortunately, both our German and NZ Health insurances declined to cover the cost of the drug that could help me.

I am getting a different chemotherapy drug at the moment, and once that is finished, we will buy the Lynparza Medication privately.

We are still overwhelmed by everyone’s donations, and it’s amazing to know so many people are thinking of me.

With everyone’s help, the future looks so much brighter.

Once again Thank You, everyone, it means so so much.
