Help support baby Bodhi and his family as they face an unexpected medical journey far from home
Auckland
At just 3 weeks old, baby Bodhi has been diagnosed with Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Drainage (TAPVD) a rare and serious heart condition. He has been flown to Starship Hospital in Auckland for urgent testing and will be having surgery Tuesday morning.
His parents, David and Tash, have gone with him, while their five other children have stayed home with extended family. It’s a scary and emotional time, and we want to do what we can to support them through it.
Accommodation is thankfully sorted, but my brother only has one week of annual leave left and no sick leave available. We're hoping this small giveaway can ease the financial pressure and allow him to continue staying in Auckland with Bodhi and Tash during this critical time.
Thank you for standing with this beautiful family during such a difficult time 💙
I'm David's older sister. Just trying to do my bit with supporting them in this difficult time.
Funds will help cover Food and daily living expenses while staying away from home,
Care costs for the siblings left behind in Dunedin and lost income due to limited annual and sick leave.
Bodhi is Home! 21 August 2025
We are so pleased to let everyone know that Bodhi has been discharged from hospital and is now home with his family. His recovery has gone as well as doctors had hoped, and although he still has follow-up appointments and ongoing care ahead, being home is a huge step forward.
His family (especially his siblings!) are so happy he is home and are starting to settle back into a more normal routine, though they know the next few weeks will still bring challenges as Bodhi continues to heal. They are incredibly thankful for all of the support that has helped them manage travel, time away from home, and the financial pressures of this journey.
