Supporting Cara Cameron through her cancer treatment

A lot of you may know about Cara's diagnosis of Stage 4 Bowel & Liver Cancer in March 2021. People so generously donated, enabling Cara to receive unfunded treatment alongside chemotherapy through the public system. Since her diagnosis, she has had 50+ rounds of chemotherapy & unfunded treatments

Unfortunately, Cara's liver tumors have become resistant to treatment & after much consideration, Cara will be undergoing Selective Internal Radiation Therapy (SIRT). SIRT provides treatment for liver tumors by delivery of radioactive microscopic beads to the tumor. The hope is it will shrink Cara's main tumor that sits between the main vessels in her liver & currently preventing her from having liver surgery. If successful, there is a possibility that liver surgery could be an option in future, which is a HUGE step in the right direction. The cost of SIRT is upwards of $45,000

Cara will also be undergoing radiation to her lymphnodes. This procedure is called Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy, a treatment that gives an intense dose of radiation concentrated on a tumor. The treatment is $10,000+

In the toughest 2 years of her life, Cara has found it difficult to ask for help. However, with costs this large & the impact this treatment is going to have on Cara, we find ourselves asking for support through this page. Whether it is a dollar or a message of support, it would mean buckets. Cara embodies an attitude & resilience everyone could learn from. We love her, she is our sunshine
