Supporting Carla & Brad in Their Time of Need

We are writing this as Carla and Brad’s neighbours and close friends, coming together to support two people who mean so much to our community.

Brad has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently in Auckland, where he has undergone multiple surgeries. At this stage, there is no clear timeframe for when he will be able to return home. This has meant extended time away, ongoing accommodation and travel costs, and the emotional strain that comes with it.

Both Carla and Brad are self‑employed and run their own businesses. With Brad unwell and Carla supporting him full‑time, they have been unable to work. Despite seeking help, they have been advised by MSD that no financial assistance is available to them, leaving them under significant financial pressure during an already incredibly stressful time.

Anyone who knows Carla and Brad knows they are the first to help others. They would give you the shirt off their back and are always finding ways to give back to our small community. Now it’s our turn to be there for them.

All donations will go towards supporting Carla and Brad with everyday living costs, accommodation, and travel, allowing them to focus on Brad’s health and recovery.
