Supporting Fin Paddison and his family
Warkworth, Auckland
On Saturday 19th April, Fin was in a freak accident whilst on holiday at a Queenstown property. They were relaxing on the balcony when the glass balustrade Fin was leaning on gave out. Fin fell a significant height and has suffered horrific and life changing injuries.
Fin was airlifted to Christchurch Hospital where he remains, and was put in an induced coma. He has suffered a major brain injury. He has multiple breaks in his back and neck.
Fin's parents Dayne & Tracey, partner Taryn and brother Eli are all from Warkworth and are staying in Christchurch, by his side waiting for a miracle. His friends who were with him on what should have been the trip of a lifetime have also travelled to Christchurch to support him and his family.
We would love to help take some of that financial burden off their shoulders while they focus on Fin and his recovery.
If you could please help Fin and our family in anyway it would be greatly appreciated.
This page is for my cousin Fin and aunty and uncle.
Any money raised will help with the day to day expenses of Fin's family holding up in Christchurch to be near him and to help with Fin's recovery and rehabilitation, if he gets through this. ACC will provide some financial support for Fin's medical cost.
TODAY Fin has finally come home - after 7 months!!! 13 November 2025
Fin’s journey reached a massive milestone today and no one could be any happier than Fin himself, and of course his partner and family!! He was discharged this morning and celebrated coming home with stop at Puhoi pub for lunch and a cold beer on the way, the beer he said tasted like freedom!! His sense of humour is as strong as ever and he is sharper by the day. The past 7 months he has been in living at rehabilitation clinics in Auckland (ABI Brain Injury Clinic and then the Spinal Unit) while recovering and undergoing intense rehabilitation. Fin’s journey now is learning to live a new life with the injuries he sustained having left him paralysed and in a wheelchair. Fin will live with his parents until he is able to live independently again, his dad Dayne recently resigned from his job to become Fin’s main support and carer, a role that will also be shared with an ACC carer.
