SUPPORTING OUR FRIENDS IN NEPAL

After visiting Nepal with Sherpa Encounters, the wonderful people we met became our 'Sherpa family'. We have kept in touch and provide support as we can, through Sherpa Encounters, to assist with business initiatives and advancing education. With no welfare support and dependent on tourism income, Covid has virtually bought Nepal to a standstill. Our support at the moment is to provide rice and other necessities. Donna, Sharon and Rose (the Yakity Yak girls) are about to embark on an epic ride of the North Island as part of the Tour Aotearoa. Even on e-bikes this will be a fabulous challenge for them. They intend to use this ride to raise funds for those in need in Nepal and education and have already contributed to the Shree Shisakhola School as their donation to join The Tour. They invite you to support the school too to inspire young Nepali to reach their dreams and also help our Sherpa families survive.
