I am heading to Tanzania to support local children, your donation can help me to carry out this volunteer journey and make a lasting impact
Canterbury
In January 2026, I am travelling to eastern Africa where I will be volunteering with the local children of Moshi. I will be supported by The Mighty Roar, a non-profit, ethical organisation which works with underserved communities around the world.
I will be working in local schools - helping to teach English, provide childcare, promote basic health education, and share learnings from my own experiences in the New Zealand schooling system.
These children face significant daily challenges, including poverty, limited access to education, and a lack of basic resources. For many of us, these are struggles we’ve never had to face.
Any funds raised will be used towards purchasing essential supplies for the schools and children of Moshi. These include, stationery, sporting equipment, sanitary and hygiene products, and other classroom resources. These resources may seem basic but for the children of Moshi, will make a huge difference in supporting their development. Items will be purchased in Tanzania, supporting the local economy and ensuring I am donating items that are truly needed and requested by the community.
I kindly ask of those in a position to support me in carrying out this journey, even the smallest contribution can make a huge difference collectively.
Edit: Unfortunately, Josh is no longer able to make the journey. All donations from his family and friends, together with my own supporters, will be gifted on behalf of us all.
With so much love and appreciation,
Mya & Josh
