Cindy was diagnosed shortly before Christmas 2014, with a rare and aggressive cancer in her breast.
Auckland
She's currently undergoing a radical course of chemo and has already endured nearly 100 hours. In the year ahead the treatment will continue so in response to the many requests from so many people who know Cindy wanting to help, we've set up this page to support this absolute star who has given so much to so many, while she fights her battle against cancer.
As the main breadwinner for her household and sole caregiver for her son Ethan, Cindy has had to give up her job to concentrate on beating cancer. We want Cindy to feel her future and Ethan's is a little more secure and be able to take advantage of new opportunities that come their way in the future.
Cindy has been an active member of Mairangi Bay Surf lifesaving Club coaching nippers at the club for the last 10 years giving up her time after work and in weekends and even now during her treatment is still actively helping, coaching and playing an official role at events. She has given similarly of her time to other clubs and organisations she and Ethan have been involved with including the waterpolo and rugby communities, and is well known and liked in the community as someone who is generous, who opens her home to others and shares what she has - Someone who goes above and beyond.
This fund is Cindy's backstop, her light at the end of the tunnel. We want her to know she has our support throughout her battle in every way allowing her the freedom to concentrate on her recovery.
Cindy is well known in the community. We have created this page for the the many people and groups she has been involved with to show their support for her and help her through this tough time.
