In August 2011 Leanne (42) was diagnosed with NET a rare form of Carcinoid Cancer, which started in the Small Bowel, advancing to secondary locations in the Pelvic Peritoneal Lining and 70% of her Liver. Critically ill and best chance for survival, her surgical team advised best course of action was 3 radical major surgeries.
October 2011 the first surgery removed the primary Cancer. Large growth in the Small Bowel and Gall Bladder removed. 5 months later the second major surgery removed 70% of her Liver. Complications occurred so major Heart Bypass surgery was needed and the Liver procedure could not be completed. Leanne was left in an induce Coma fighting for her life.
After a miraculous recovery her surgeons embarked on a third invasive life saving surgery, completing the Liver procedure, full Hysterectomy and resection of Peritoneal Lining. Sadly subsequent scans have revealed a new Tumor in Leanne’s Spine.
