Volunteering with the Joshua Foundation at Joshua School Magugu to help mentor the Tanzanian teachers
Auckland
The Joshua Foundation is based in Arusha and The Joshua School Magugu is attached to The Joshua Foundation, a Tanzanian charity run by New Zealanders who seek to train and equip leaders and the next generation to see community transformation take place in Tanzania.
Having resigned my teaching job in NZ I am heading to the school in Magugu in April 2015. I plan to use my NZ teaching skills to help mentor the local Tanzanian teachers in ways to engage their students and to give them a love and a passion for learning.
At this stage I am planning to be in Tanzania until December but may extend this until April 2016.
As I am volunteering your support will be very grateful received.
As a trained Secondary School teacher I realise the value in Education and the difference it can make in people's lives. As New Zealanders we are fortunate to have free, high quality education. However, others in developing countries do not have the same access to education. Hence why I am volunteering to go to Tanzania.
