*Supporting Susan Yen Leet O'Brien to represent NZ at the World Champion long distance triathlon ("the Worlds") in Penticton 27 August 2017*

Wellington

Background

By way of background, I am a Mother of two to Misha age 2.5 and Jayden age 4.5, Triathlete, Spin Instructor and Personal Trainer providing a holistic approach to helping others gain confidence through strength training and conditioning.

Ability

In December 2015 I did my first half iron man experiencing a panic attack in the swim. Continuing the race was my biggest achievement. One month later in January 2016 I did another half iron man qualifying for the Worlds long distance triathlon in Oklahoma in September 2016 placing 8th in my AG, after recovering from broken ribs from a biking accident 3 months prior and moving to Auckland. In January 2017 and March 2017 I qualified for the Worlds long distance and standard distance (finished 2nd in my age group - first podium) to be held in Penticton and Rotterdam respectively this year.

Dream

My dream is to be stronger and faster in the Worlds long distance this year.

The Worlds

Swim in the lake for 4km, bike hills for 120km and run 30km. Why? Because this is my Passion. Pushing boundaries, conditioning the body, mind and soul. Celebrating amazing capabilities of the body to be stronger and faster and not focusing on aesthetics. Believing that anything is possible having battled an eating disorder, depression, broken ribs and surviving a night lost in the bush drives me to live life to the fullest and not look back with regrets.

What I can offer?

a) Weekly or monthly newsletters or blog of my training journey;

b) Product reviews;

c) Motivational talks to staff or local community on topics of interest such as overcoming adversity or obstacles;

d) Point of contact for organisation at tradeshows;

e) Helping out at local events such as bike maintenance courses, spin classes or fun runs;

f) Providing fitness training sessions at lunchtime for staff general wellbeing and productivity; and

g) Open to any other suggestions.

How you can help?

As the Worlds is self-funded, I believe dreams should not be compromised. To cover:

a) Flights from Auckland to Penticton travelling with the NZ team on Air New Zealand;

b) 10 nights accommodation in Penticton staying with the NZ team;

c) Licence fees covering Tri NZ administration costs;

d) NZ uniform (hoody, polo shirt, pants, race singlet and race bike pants);

e) Race entry fee; and

f) Purchase towards a bike (current bike is too big).

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me by telephone at 022 034 4658 or my email at exceedyourlimitsltd@gmail.com

I look forward to hearing from you!

Use of funds

We need your help. As every little bit counts no matter how big or small, it is the thought that counts and any form of support is invaluable. Support such as:

a) Bike maintenance, servicing, tuning, bike fit;

b) Nutritional needs for optimum performance and recovery;

c) Other services such as recovery massages.

Would be greatly appreciated!
