Gemma's Leg Surgery

Gemma is my 6 and a half year old Huntaway x. I've had her since she was 8 weeks old. Gemma was a free to a good home pup and for the last 6 years has been my baby. A companion through good times and bad.

I love Gemma more than words can explain and this is why I've set up this page.

Gemma has a condition in her back legs caused by bad genes, which is causing her ligaments to weaken making it difficult for her to walk let alone play and run around like she loves to do! She became lame on the 27th of November 2015 and we found out on 1st of December that she needed surgery on her leg to correct this issue and allow her to move freely again.

Today the 4th of December Gemma went into surgery at Franklin Vets Pukekohe with Paul. Today the surgery is for her left back leg. But I have also now been told that it's only a matter of time until her right back leg will need surgery too.

The costs involved are too much for me to take on alone. At $3,500 per leg (and right before Christmas) I really do need all the help I can get.
