Supporting New Zealand Land Search & Rescue through Syd's Run 2026

Syd's Moped Run is a moped and small motorbike ride in Christchurch, New Zealand, that began in 1995. What started as a birthday ride for Syd Faulconer has grown into one of New Zealand's biggest and most loved small bike events.

Syd's Run Background:

Syd was approaching his 70th birthday when his family wanted to organise a celebration. Being a bit of a rascal, he decided he'd rather go for a moped ride with his mates instead! That spirit of fun, friendship and community is what Syd's Moped Run is still all about today.

Each year, the organising committee chooses a charity to support, and for 2026 we are proud to be raising funds for New Zealand Land Search & Rescue.

On 21 November 2026, we hope to have hundreds of riders take part in another incredible day on Christchurch's roads, all while raising funds to support the people who are always there when our community needs them most.
