Rest in love, Sailor!

Tachyon Micheal Hutt otherwise known as Micheal, TY or Tai, has passed away in a car accident on Saturday 19th of July.

Tachyon was a good man with a big heart. My baby brother. Some will know him as the boy who sailed the cook straight in a dingy. He was a pirate. A wild card. He had a rough start to life as all his siblings did. He had really only just started to make peace with his trauma and live a semi normal life only to loose it at 23.

Our family desperately needs help to pay for the funeral and other costs.

We should be eligible for help from ACC. They've said it can take upto 9 months to reach a decision since it's "a special case".

The max grant is just under 8k. Our bill with the funeral directors so far is 8149.50.

Even if we get that grant the costs don't end there!

We still need to travel from Motueka to picton to sort his belongings. We'll need accommodation while we're there. Some of us borrowed money to attend the wake. We're all taking time off work to help which is particularly damaging to the sole traders.

It's been really financially straining on everyone involved.
