My name is Hannah, a proud aunty to Taidgh. I’ve created this page to support Taidgh, whose life changed forever on 2nd Jan 2025, when he was a passenger in a tragic car accident. Taidgh has suffered multiple fractures to his skull, face, neck, and back, requiring two major surgeries. Despite these immense challenges, he is showing incredible strength and determination (in true Taidgh style). Currently, he is in Middlemore Hospital, where he’s making steady progress each day, with his parents, Toni & Donie, by his side around the clock.
Soon, Taidgh will take the next big step in his recovery, transferring to the Burwood Spinal Unit in Christchurch. This will be an intense and challenging journey, and while we don’t yet know what his future holds, we do know he’ll need all the support he can get. ACC will provide some financial support. Donations will go directly to Taidgh for his recovery and future needs—specialised equipment, rehabilitation, and anything else required to help him regain his independence and comfort.
I’ll provide updates here about Taidgh’s progress, while always respecting his and his family’s privacy.
Your generosity will make a profound difference in Taidgh’s life, helping to ease the challenges he faces and surrounding him with love and support as he navigates his recovery. Thank you for being part of his journey and giving him hope for a brighter future.

Hi everyone,
We want to express our sincere appreciation to everyone for your incredible generosity. The funds raised will make such a meaningful difference to Taidgh’s recovery, giving him the resources to focus on his rehabilitation and work toward regaining independence.
We’re pleased to share that Taidgh is doing well. On Friday, 10 January he was transferred to Christchurch, which is a step closer to the Burwood Spinal Unit, where he will continue his long-term recovery and rehabilitation. While it’s still early days, he’s making steady progress. His motor skills in his right hand are strong, and his left hand is improving each day.
Taidgh has been so grateful for the love and support he’s received. He’s showing great determination and resilience, working hard to achieve small but important steps forward that will help him reach his recovery goals.
Yesterday marked a significant milestone as Taidgh began his rehabilitation program. He’s ready to take on this next phase and we’re looking forward to seeing what he accomplishes in the weeks and months ahead.
Thank you once again for supporting Taidgh and your loving messages of support to Toni and Donal and our extended families during this time. Your kindness and generosity mean so much, and we are truly appreciative.
