Taking the future Women of STEM to NASA's Space Camp
Wellington
I am a Guide Leader in Wellington and passionate about Women in Science. Girls need to have role models that are not just passionate about science but are Scientists. As a woman who has achieved the top in academic study and been a researcher, I strive to be a fantastic role model for girls, but I need a little bit of help.
In June, I will be taking four extraordinary girls to Space Camp at NASA’s Marshall Flight Centre, Huntsville, Alabama, USA. The Space Camp we are attending, is a girl only camp where girls from around the world come together and learn about the history and future of space exploration. The girls will work as a team and confront space mission scenarios that require problem solving and critical thinking skills. The girls attending Space Camp are the future engineers, pilots, and scientists of New Zealand.
Funds raised will be used to pay for flights and accommodation to get to Huntsville.
