The Count down is on let's support Whaea Carrie so she can represent New Zealand.
Kaiaua, Auckland
We are incredibly proud to share that our tumuaki (Principal), Whaea Carrie Taipari-Thorne has been selected as a New Zealand Black Dragon to represent Aotearoa at the 17th International Dragon Boat Festival World Dragon Boat Racing Championships being held in Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany from 14–20 July 2025!
This is a prestigious opportunity—not only as an athlete, but as a proud representative of our country. Her continued hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to dragon boat racing are a true reflection of the same passion and responsibility she brings to all aspects of her involvement in education.
Carrie has contributed so much—not only to our school, but to many others across the Hauraki Plains. She is a positive role model, consistently inspiring principals, teachers, students, and their families to be their best selves.
Now we have the opportunity to give back.
As these sports are predominantly self-funded, the Kaiaua School Community are wanting to support our amazing Carrie as much as we can. All funds raised will help with travel, accommodation, and costs associated with her international representation.
Donate, share, and help us support Carrie to represent our country.
