A new Plunket facility for families in Tawa, Linden and surrounding areas.
Nationwide
The building project will replace the aging Plunket rooms at Linden Avenue with a new fit for purpose building.
Once up and running, the new facility will bring together all of Plunket’s services under one roof, including Plunket’s toy library which is currently located on Oxford Street.
The rebuild is essential, as the current building is sinking and often floods which leads to issues with damp. The building has served many generations of families from the local area for several years, but it is now very old and no longer fit for purpose. We are looking forward to providing local families and children with a new, dry, spacious facility.
Without the new build it is likely that the Tawa & Linden clinic would close, meaning families would then need to travel to Johnsonville or Porirua to access Plunket services.
Plunket’s services in Tawa and Linden are free and available to all families in the local community, including:
- Clinical services and nurses offices
- Toy Library
- Parenting Education Programme (PEPE)
- Strategies with Kids Information for Parents (SKIP) Courses (e.g. Tantrums, solids, toilet training etc.)
- Room hire/conference facilities for community groups (e.g. Post Natal Depression support groups)
- Parent support groups (e.g. Plunket in your Neighborhood groups)
- Breastfeeding and sleep clinics
