Te Aranga's Car
In order for Te Aranga to be included in the community and school events she needs to be able to access facilities with her peers.

Te Aranga is a student at Te Kura O Te Teko. She is has been unable to walk since birth and uses a wheelchair for mobility. The school does not have a mobility vehicle which limits Te Aranga's ability to access therapy at Riding for the Disabled and the local Aquatic Centre. It also limits her ability to be included in class and school events in the local community. Staff at school, and family members, are currently lifting her and her wheelchair into vehicles in order to enable her to attend events.
Members of the Verstegen Family, long time Whakatane residents, are donating a Toyota Noah which has been adapted with a ramp and can carry 3 people plus a wheelchair. The car originally belonged to Sally Verstegen who died 2 years ago.

I am a teacher working at the school with children who have special educational needs. The funds will be used to provide a mobility car for Te Aranga Pryor-Taare, a current student, and any other student who has mobility difficulties in the future.
Use of funds
The Verstegen family has the car and the funds raised will be used to repair the motor and pay for ongoing running costs.

Mustang Sally’s New Motor 1 December 2019
With the funds raised from this page, and funds raised by the Te Teko community, Mustang Sally now has a new motor. All she needs now is warrant and rego and she will be back on the road. Thanks to everyone for your help with this project it’s been amazing. It won’t be long now until Te Aranga will be seen around town in the little, yellow machine. Spread the word and hopefully we can get a little bit more to help the school pay for warrant, rego and a bit of petrol. Thanks again everyone.
