Te Mana o te Kaumātua (Honouring the Mana of our Elders)
Our first Kaumatua is an elder named Awatea. Awatea relies heavily on walking into town multiple times weekly however due to recent health conflicts this has affected her. A mobility scooter would help her immensely ❤️
This fundraiser has been created to support our kaumātua (elders) within communities across New Zealand.
Many of our Nannies and Koros have spent their lives giving to others and paving the way for future generations. Yet some now find themselves in situations where they need support but may struggle to ask for help.
The goal of this initiative is to assist our kaumātua one at a time, ensuring that those most in need receive practical support and care.
Funds raised across these campaigns will go toward essential items and support such as food, clothing, household appliances (for example fridges), mobility scooters, and other basic necessities that help improve their quality of life.
Our kaumātua carry knowledge, history, and wisdom that shape who we are today. Without our Nannies and Koros, we would not be here.
This kaupapa is simply about giving back, showing gratitude, and honouring the generation who paved the way for us.
