Help Te Roopu Tuhono (disability) kapa haka attend Nationals 2026

Te Roopu Tuhono kapa haka is for adults with disabilities in Otautahi/ Christchurch. It is inclusive for anyone in the community with a disability. It gets no funding from outside sources, everything is done with fundraising. There is no.membership fee.
Kaihaka, whanau, support staff, friends & friends of friends fundraise hard to ensure the kaihaka get to travel to kapa haka festivals that they normally would not be able to afford. So far the team & their supports have been to Wellington & Invercargill, and now are frantically fundraising to get to Hamilton in November 2026 to attend National Kapa Haka Festival. 2027 will see them heading for Nelson.
We currently have 26 kaihaka, all needing help to continue to participate in kapa haka with their peers.

Use of funds
Travel (flights, shuttles, buses etc), accomadation ( marae or back packers), cultural experiences that are available when away & food!
