Statistics don't lie. Every year, 3,000 Tamariki under 14 are injured by dogs, with 77% of these incidents involving family or known dogs. Many of these dogs are re-homed or euthanized, often through no fault of their own. By teaching our children empathy and a better understanding of dogs, we can significantly reduce these incidents.

It's not just about the DO's and DON'Ts; it's about recognizing that dogs experience emotions just like we do. We expect them to adapt to our chaotic human world without seeing things from their perspective.

That's where BIZZY's WORLD steps in. Our programmes guide Tamariki aged 2 to 11 on a unique, fun, interactive, and multisensory journey into the world of dogs.

With input and support from teachers, SPCA, DogSafeWorkplace, Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue, parents, and dog lovers, our programmes are comprehensive, fun, engaging and align with the NZ Curriculum.

Els Desart, the founder of BIZZY's WORLD, brings 30 years of experience working with dogs and families. Els has supported welfare and rescue organizations, established high-standard daycare and training centers, and taught dog behaviour at ARA Canterbury.

At the heart of it all is Bizzy, a cheeky ginger Border Collie and Els' bestie. Bizzy loves adventures and making human and dog friends wherever she goes.
