I have been asked to provide proof of the authenticity of my request for help from the community, Bethlehem Vetcare has provided me this.

I have a pile of invoices from Manukau After Hours as they send a new one every new AM/PM shift handover for the 4 day period but I have requested a total amount on letterhead which I still waiting for. I have actually managed to cover this bill with savings & a credit card. It is now the Tauranga Vets I need help to try & cover.

Thankfully there is already just over $2000 fundraised so far I am just hoping to make it to $5000 to lessen the total financial burden if it is at all possible with the help of the animal loving community x

Thankyou so much for everyone that has donated, it is a huge help to lighten the huge cost that comes with this type of unfortunate accident. So update ... Auckland surgeons at Manukau After Hours told me that I had two options, to put Teaka down or amputate her leg as she had a look & she didn't believe it was fixable & would cost thousands more than just amputating, so while we waited for a surgeon their bill alone for taking care of her for 4 days was $5000. I was given an estimate of $10,000 total to amputate. I didn't feel Teaka needed/deserved to be put down being such a young happy pup & so much life left to live (as a 3 legged pooch). So after 4 days in emergency care in Auckland waiting for surgery on the Tuesday after Labour Weekend we picked Teaka up & drove her straight down to Tauranga to Bethlehem Vetcare to meet surgeon 'Campbell our hero'. He wasn't happy about the Auckland surgeon's diagnosis & asked if he could go in for a look which I agreed too. I was called later that day to be told that he felt he could fix the hip with no foreign materials by sealing the remaining healthy tissue that was still there, the ankle which I was told was unfixable Campbell said he could use 3 screws & nylon to reconstruct the tendons & the joint as it had been badly damaged from Teaka being dragged along the road. He said as he doesn't agree in amputating that he would fix her hip & ankle for the same cost as amputation & if he is unsuccessful he would amputate for free. I believe in science & I believed in Campbell ... after 10 days of emergency care & two major surgeries unbelievably Teaka arrived home yesterday with 4 legs & her usual happy smiley face!! Teaka is to be cage bound for the next 4-6 weeks to avoid any potential damage to & delay to her recovery long term but I am so grateful to have her home ... & so is she.

Now in regards to funds & this page I have managed to pull most of the funds together with savings & a credit card including the money raised so far but I am still $2500 short of $10,000 so I am asking one more favour if you know of anyone (friends, family, colleagues) who loves animals & are able to donate a little to help me get there please send them the link to this page for me ... THANKYOU!

Love Mel, Tessa & Teaka x
