Teaka the most loving, fast, charismatic 1 year pup, (my daughter) desperately needs our help so she doesn't have to be put to sleep.

I have used the little bit of savings that I had but it is not enough & I need help to get over the line.

Yesterday afternoon while staying in Auckland at my partners (Friday 23rd October) my happy, full of life, loving wee 1 year old pup was hit by a car. Hugely traumatic & I still can't stop thinking about hearing the bang from impact, her excruciating yelps in pain & seeing the exposed bone & the huge amounts of gushing blood from her hind leg. Teaka has received severe injuries & has to have her leg amputated, unfortunately due to the timing of the accident being late Friday of Labour weekend, & still being unstable she has to remain in Auckland emergency after hours with round the clock care ($$$) until we can transport her straight to the Tauranga vets for surgery to have her leg amputated after Labour weekend on Tuesday morning. Teaka has already had surgery to mend her wound but still requires further surgery for the amputation. ... I have looked at & have considered all options but I have come to the decision for Teaka long term that being only 1 year old & still a happy, full of life pup putting her down is not an option. Unfortunately lessons learnt to not put off things & should have made insurance a priority. Anyone who knows me knows that Teaka is my daughter & my world.

I have never asked for help before but I need the help of everyone as a collective to help Teaka!

Use of funds

To cover the costs to successfully get her through surgery & to not have to put down. Any excess will be donated to A Day of Magic Charitable Trust.

Tauranga Vet Estimation (Auckland still to come!) 3 November 2020

I have been asked to provide proof of the authenticity of my request for help from the community, Bethlehem Vetcare has provided me this.

I have a pile of invoices from Manukau After Hours as they send a new one every new AM/PM shift handover for the 4 day period but I have requested a total amount on letterhead which I still waiting for. I have actually managed to cover this bill with savings & a credit card. It is now the Tauranga Vets I need help to try & cover.

Thankfully there is already just over $2000 fundraised so far I am just hoping to make it to $5000 to lessen the total financial burden if it is at all possible with the help of the animal loving community x
