Team Diversity from Mangawhai Beach School

Team Diversity is a group of five 13 year olds from Mangawhai Beach School who worked hard throughout 2019 to research Diversity and Stereotypes within Mangawhai Community. They have initiated discussions within the community (through presentations, a powerful video and in the Mangawhai Focus newspaper) and are working on solutions to unite Mangawhai Community by celebrating all of our strengths. This group, tutored by Cate Campbell and Brooklyn Wilson won the NZ National Future Problem Solving Finals in Auckland so that they now have the opportunity to compete and present their Community Future Problem Solving research project to international delegates at the University of Massachusetts in Boston in June 2020. These are extension learners who can continue to use their creative minds to improve our own local Community and New Zealand.
