Help Team Kevin get to the international Tournament of Minds finals in Canberra.
Royal Oak, Auckland
Team Kevin is a Tournament of Minds (TOM) team from Royal Oak Intermediate specialising in the discipline of STEM. The members of Team Kevin are Elijah, Jamie, Nathan, Lily, Hazel, Arlo and Joseph. This amazing group of students won the Auckland regional competition, and then the New Zealand finals. Go Team Kevin! We are SO proud of you!
They now have an opportunity to compete in the international finals in Canberra (Oct 14th -16th). They will be competing with teams from around the world. What an incredible opportunity for these young learners! We hope you can help us to get them there!
Funds raised here will contribute to paying for each child's entry fee, as well as the considerable travel and accomodation costs involved in taking 7 children and accompanying adults to Canberra.
What is TOM? TOM is a program for all primary and secondary students providing the opportunity to solve authentic, open-ended challenges that foster creative, divergent thinking whilst developing collaborative enterprise, excellence and teamwork in a challenging and competitive environment. Find out more here: https://tom.edu.au/about

Money raised will be sent on competition entry fees, as well as travel and accomodation cost for team.
We did it! 19 October 2022
Kia ora Team Kevin supporters,
We did it! Thanks to your generous support and the hard work of the wider Team Kevin whānau we were able to travel to Canberra, compete in Tournament of Minds, and have the best time ever! This was a fantastic learning experience for Team Kevin. The experience included a full day of orienteering across Canberra's National Triangle (including solving clues, doing challenges, and a visit to the national science museum Questacon) and an intense day of competing at Australian National University (ANU) followed by an evening of partying with all the other competitors! The level of competition in Australia challenged the team to really push themselves. We are so proud with how well the team supported each other across the competition, how they worked together under pressure and rose to the challenge. We learnt a lot to take forward with us for next time too. Thank you for all your support!! We will continue to fundraise - we have some costs still to cover - so please share this link with anyone you know who may want to help.
Thank you Shanks whānau! x
