Currently fighting an inflammation in my brain, doctors aren't to sure what it is but i'm not giving up - taking it one day at a time!
Auckland
What started off as possible teething (so we thought) turned into something that would change the course of our daily routines and the rest of our lives. Just shy of 3 months old (10 weeks) Baby Noah was admitted to Middlemore hospital with what we thought/were told was a sore throat (saw doctor night before. Upon arrival at Middlemore Hospital Noah began having Apneas- not breathing for approx 10secs with 4 quick breaths in between. He was then quickly admitted to Starship Hospital the same night and from there he began having severe seizures and relying on the oxygen machine to breathe for him.
After multiple lumber punctures, several blood tests, MRI scans, urine tests, CT scans and EEGs, doctors initial thought it was a brain infection had formed in his tiny head. Later was diagnosed with brain inflammation. Hoping all the medication he had been given would reduce the inflammation it unfortunately took a turn for the worst as it has now spread throughout his brain. Doctors aren't sure exactly what it is and what has caused it so cannot treat the direct cause. He's now off the oxygen machine and breathing on his own, Taking it one day at a time as we are unsure if what permanent brain damage he may incur.
We are keeping positive with prayers, love and support from our families/friends that he will fight this inflammation and will pull through to make a full recovery!
I'm Noah's Aunty Karleen (: wanting to help him and his parents get through this battle he is facing and see him return home to his loving family xx
Noah needs his mum at his bedside to help with his recovery and has been with him since day 1. His father cannot stay so he travels back and fourth to be there to support them both. Donations will be used to take care of all future medical treatments and to also ease the financial stress so Noah's family can support and help him fight this inflammation.
