Wellington
Community Comms Collective volunteer extraordinaire and web usability matchmaker Louise Lum is a finalist in the 2017 New Zealand Charities Technology Awards (http://conference.techsoup.net.nz/awards-dinner.html) for her amazing work helping community organisations create user-friendly websites.
In two years, more than 40 community organisations across New Zealand have benefited from the collective’s free website usability service, developed by Louise and delivered by Louise and her team of CCC volunteers. Among them, Youthline, National Council of Women of New Zealand, Wellington Region Emergency Management Office, the Cancer Society of New Zealand, Emerge Supported Employment Trust, Community Housing Aotearoa, SAFE, Sport Wellington, Ni Hao Children's Community Charitable Trust, Birthright New Zealand, YWCA of Aotearoa New Zealand, The Common Unity Project Aotearoa, Workbridge, Futuna Chapel, People First New Zealand, Parkinson's New Zealand, Alzheimers New Zealand, St Vincent de Paul Society Wellington, JustSpeak, Community Networks Aotearoa, Franklin Family Support Services, Pregnancy Help, Disabled Snowsports Canterbury, PINC & STEEL, the New Zealand Federation of Family Budgeting Services, Gale Force Gospel Choir, Project Island Song; Adult Learning Support Kapiti, Healthy Futures, Age Concern New Zealand; Sri Lankan Dance Academy; Friends of Galapagos New Zealand, Te Ara Moana, NZ Maori Basketball Aotearoa, Wellme and Environment and Conservation Organisations of NZ (ECO).
Through her website usability service, Louise has enabled charities across New Zealand to better communicate their work and causes – and in doing so strengthen the communities in which we all live. She has made a huge impact in a short space of time and has considerable potential to do much more.
We would love to send Louise to the awards dinner in Auckland on 16 March to celebrate her success!
