Teddy Bear Project

  • RASNZ

      20 August 2020

Just creating an update regarding the awesome work of Refugees as Survivors New Zealand (RASNZ) which is New Zealand’s leading mental health and wellbeing service for people from refugee backgrounds living in Aotearoa. Due to the success of the page, I have decided to reopen the page and donate the bears to the community- based youth programme in Auckland. How cool is it that we are now able to extend the project to the North Island as well?

Thanks again for all your generosity.

That's so amazing this has spread so far. I'm sure they will be so happy to receive the bears :)

Awesome that our PM got behind the Teddy Bear Project. What a lovely surprise being sent bears directly from Jacinda Ardern! Can't wait to give these to a new home.

The Teddy bears have also been distributed to the first intake of children who have arrived and there are even enough funds for the next intake of children when they arrive in Christchurch. It was so wonderful being able to hand these bears out in person. Again, this could not have been possible without your support. Thank you for advocating for these children.

This project was centered around the values of connection and belonging and I do hope that this project can go national.

    Thanks again

    Sana

I want to express my appreciation for all of your generosity in support of the Teddy Bear project. We have raised over $1,000 and are so close to our goal! This means so much to myself and the migration team at Red Cross and even more to the children when they are welcomed into New Zealand with teddy bears. I have been blown away with emails from members of our community with people wanting to help❤️

This project was developed around the values of connection and belonging. My vision is of a collaboration of people across NZ committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming country for all and your support in order to achieve this means the absolute world.
