Teeing Off to make an impact.

Waitakere, Auckland

On December the 22nd, 4 of us will tee off before first light and hack our way through 72 holes of golf at Waitakere Golf Club to raise some funding towards Marin and his end of life care.

72 holes, 4 mates, 35km of hiking up and down the "goat track", Every swing will make an impact towards the cause.

The NZ Cancer Society made us aware of the challenge and collectively we have branched out to privately support someone close who needs our help.

Marin was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma on the 29th of June 2025. His daughter's Kristy and Rachel were seeking some medical advice regarding his memory and the discovery was heartbreaking.

Marin is currently in 24/7 hospice care and has opted to no longer receive more chemotherapy and radiation due to quality of life.

What Marin and the family has had to understand and take on is truly sad so as a team we want to give this challenge everything we can to raise some funds to support his daily hospice care, additional medication and funeral plans.

Moral or financial, every bit of support is appreciated and welcomed whole heartedly.

The absolute champions taking on the challenge alongside myself will be James Watson, Peter Hunnibell and a couple more Hackers United friends. Swing hard lads.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
