He Ngakau Matua is in need of a new van to transport parents and children

Nationwide

Te Aroha Noa has developed a He Ngakau Matua Young Parents Learning Centre to respond to the learning needs of young parents who have become marginalised from the education system. We have designed a holistic two generational learning programme for these young parents.

This Programme includes personal development, life skills, education, parenting development, and the re-engagement into formal education. An important component of the Programme is assisting the young women to develop their own vision so that they can become self directed learners.

The Programme is provided within a scaffolded whanau type environment. In order for the Programme to run smoothly, parents and children are provided with transport.

We are currently fundraising toward the goal of purchasing a new van for the He Ngakau Matua Programme.
