ICU Fundraiser

Dunedin, Otago

Earlier this year I was critically unwell with swine flu, severe pneumonia, severe septic shock, on life support etc. The amazing team at Dunedin ICU helped save my life and I would love to thank them, to say thanks I will be raising money for communication devices to gift to the Intensive Care Unit. One of the things that I found most difficult about being a patient in ICU was when I was awake but still had the breathing tube in, therefore, I was alert but unable to communicate with my family and friends and this was very frustrating. I think having communication devices in Dunedin's ICU will be really beneficial for the alert but non-verbal patients and is proven to make their recovery go faster. This is something I wish I had while I was recovering in ICU and would love to raise money for our ICU and make in difference in both the staff, families and the patients lives while they go through this challenging time
