Last night was exactly one year ago since the car crash and it feels still raw and surreal for Matt and I. But it also reminds me how lucky we are to have great family and friends who supported us through this time.

This is the last post for this fundraiser and I wanted to say a big thank you for your kindness and support. We raised $1160.00 which is amazing. I have posted the transfer of the money for your reference and a message from Chris at the Wilson Home Trust.

Enjoy summer and drive safe xxx

From Chris at the Wilson Home Trust "Wow that is amazing, thank you so much for this very generous donation, it will be used to support disabled children and their families across the region.

Please pass our thanks to everyone who participated in this fundraiser."

  • Final sleep before the event!

      6 November 2021

    Kia ora,

The final sleep before the event.

My sister Chris and I are running 21km and Matt, Louis, Erica and Miller (my awesome nephew) are walking 10km on Sunday, so if you see us making our way from Harwood/Mac Bay to the harbour basin from 9am, give us a toot or shout!

Originally we were doing the Dunedin Emerson's Marathon event but as it has been cancelled this year, we decided to do it ourselves anyway.

Jakob can't join us as he's tramping today from Woodhaugh gardens to camp Wairoa and returning at 5pm tomorrow with his school for the Duke of Edinburgh silver award. I'll post a photo of him when he gets back. I'm so happy and grateful that he is able to participate in school tramps, 10 months ago I really would not have believed how well he could recover.

    Cheers from team Oskam-Schmidt 😁

Thank you so much for your support so far.

Our t-shirts have arrived and it's getting close with only one week until we run the half marathon and walk the 10km for the Wilson Home Trust!

Training is going well, I've been running longer distances over the past month including 16km two weekends ago, 12km last weekend and 10km run this morning while Matt and the kids have been keeping themselves fit with walks, sport and mowing lawns.

Thank you so much for your support and please share our page 😊

  • 6 weeks to go!

      25 September 2021

A quick update for you as I've been quiet over the lockdown.

Training continues for the 10km walk and 1/2 marathon run as we come into the last 6weeks before the 2021 Emersons Dunedin Marathon on 7 November.

We are all hoping that we will be able to compete in this event but if restrictions remain and the event can not run, we will still complete the distance on the 7 November with support from our close family.

Thank you so much for all your support xxx

  • Surf to Stadium 10km run

      15 August 2021

Kia ora all, I participated in the annual Surf to Stadium 10km run this morning. The weather was fantastic, we had sun, a gentle breeze and 14°C.

The below picture is at 6.5km along Kitchener St.

This run was great training for the half marathon in a month and Matt went for a walk along Lawyer's Head as part of his training to walk the 10km.

    Love Bec xxx
