The Oskam-Schmidt family are raising funds to say thank you to The Wilson Home Trust by completing the Dunedin Marathon half and 10km.

Update: due to covid the Emerson's Dunedin Marathon has been postponed to Sunday 7 November so this page will continue until after the event.
We have entered into the Emerson's Dunedin Marathon on Sunday 12 September, to fundraise for The Wilson Home Trust as a thank you for their kindness to us during our stay in January 2021 while Jakob recovered from a traumatic brain injury.
I have entered the half marathon and Matt, Jakob and Louis have entered the 10km.
On Friday 8 January 2021 at 9.21pm my beautiful boys (husband and two sons) and two of their friends were involved in a head on collision with an oncoming car travelling on the wrong side of Ravensbourne Road in Dunedin.
Jakob was sitting in the front passenger seat and suffered a traumatic brain injury along with a broken wrist and a small bowel injury requiring surgery. Thankfully all survived and are doing well.
Jakob spent two weeks in Auckland at the Wilson Centre for rehabilitation and
The Wilson Home Trust helped us on our road to recovery by providing us with the most beautiful surroundings on the North Shore to heal and kindness with their support.
This givealittle page has been set up to say thank you to The Wilson Home Trust for supporting Jakob, Matt and myself in Auckland during our time of turmoil and the funds will help other families who are staying with children that have an injury or illness.
All funds will be directly given to The Wilson Home Trust.
Thank you for your kind donation for the Wilson Home Trust 9 January 2022
Last night was exactly one year ago since the car crash and it feels still raw and surreal for Matt and I. But it also reminds me how lucky we are to have great family and friends who supported us through this time.
This is the last post for this fundraiser and I wanted to say a big thank you for your kindness and support. We raised $1160.00 which is amazing. I have posted the transfer of the money for your reference and a message from Chris at the Wilson Home Trust.
